Raritný typ stabilizácie trieštivých zlomenín proximálnej časti I. metakarpu aplikáciou VF s fixáciou o os trapesium ako jedna z možností liečby – kazuistika

Poranenia v oblasti I. metakarpu patria medzi pomerne dosť časté poranenia v traumatologickej oblasti. Vzhľadom na mechanizmus vzniku, typ poranenia a vývoj osteosyntetického materiálu sú súčasné možnosti liečby a osteosyntetickej stabilizácie vcelku slušné, od konvenčnej sadrovej fixácie cez použitie moderných titánových či netitánových materiálov. Cieľom danej kazuistiky je prezentácia možnosti raritnej aplikácie vonkajšieho fixátora v spojitosti s os trapesium pri otvorených zlomeninách suprabazálnej časti a bázy I. metakarpu v exkoriačnom a edematóznom teréne u pacienta po úraze.

Injuries of first metacarpal bone area are relatively often seen in traumatology

Considering the traumatic mechanism, type of injury and evolution of osteosynthetic materials, now a days the options in treatment and osteosynthetic fixation are quite good raging from conventional plaster-castimmobilization to usage of modern titanium or non-titanium materials. Objective of this case report is presentation of the possibility of using external fixation in connection with trapezium bone in treatment of open fracture of the basis of first metacarpal bone with the surrounding soft tissues being oedematous with numerous excoriations after the injury.
