Chemoterapia karcinómu pľúc – čo nového v roku 2009?

Počas roku 2009 boli publikované výsledky viacerých klinických štúdií zameraných na chemoterapiu karcinómu pľúc. Niektoré z nich menia aktuálne štandardy liečby alebo naznačujú ich zmenu v krátkej budúcnosti. Najvýznamnejšie sú výsledky štúdie JMEN, vedúce k akceptovaniu udržiavacej liečby pemetrexedom a výsledky štúdií, ktoré naznačujú príchod prediktívnych molekulárnych biomarkerov do klinickej praxe.

Chemotherapy of lung cancer – what is new in 2009?

Results of several clinical trials aimed on chemotherapy of lung cancer were published during the year 2009. Some of them are changing the current treatment standards or suggest their change in the near future. The most important are the result of JMEN trial leading to acceptance of maintenance therapy with pemetrexed, and results of trials suggesting that predictive molecular biomarkers are coming into clinical practice.
