Lymeská borelióza je multisystémové infekční onemocnění způsobené bakteriemi rodu Borrelia. Onemocnění může u části nemocných přecházet do chronicity a způsobit až dlouhodobou invaliditu. Pro úspěšnou léčbu nemoci je zásadní přesná diagnostika a včasné nasazení antibiotické léčby. V článku jsou shrnuty aktuální poznatky o diagnostice, léčbě i možnostech prevence tohoto onemocnění.

Current possibilities of diagnostics, treatment and prevention of lyme disease

Lyme disease is a multi-system infectious disease caused by bacteria of the genus Borrelia. In some patients the disease can become chronic and even cause long-term disability. Precise diagnostics and early initiation of antibiotic treatment are key for successful treatment. This paper summarises current information on diagnostics, treatment and prevention of this disease.
