Mikrometastáza v sentinelovej uzline pri karcinóme prsníka

Prítomnosť, alebo neprítomnosť metastáz v axilárnych lymfatických uzlinách pri karcinóme prsníka je najdôležitejší determinujúci faktor určujúci adjuvantnú systémovú liečbu. Nepoznané metastázy zhoršujú prežívanie. Zatiaľ nie je jasné či axilárna disekcia zlepšuje prežívanie pacientov. Riziko prehliadnutia metastáz v axilárnych uzlinách znižuje sentinelová biopsia, ktorá umožňuje extenzívnejšie spracovanie jednotlivých uzlín a zvyšuje záchyt mikrometastáz, ktoré majú dôležitý klinický význam.

Micrometastases in sentinel node of breast carcinoma

The presence and absence of regional lymph node metastases has been one of the most important determining factors in recommending adjuvant chemotherapy for patients with breast carcinema. Metastases, which are not detected make worse survival. It is still not clear if axillar dissection improve survival rate of patients with breast carcinoma. Sentinel nodes are more extensively examined by pathologist and this reduce risk of undetecting of axillar node metastases and increase identification of micrometastases which have important clinical relevance.
