Cytoreduktívna chirurgia kombinovaná s intraoperatívnou hypertermickou intratorakálnou chemoterapiou (HITHOC) pre I. štádium malígneho pleurálneho mezoteliómu – prvá skúsenosť

Autori uvádzajú stručný prehľad problematiky liečby malígneho pleurálneho mezoteliómu s karcinózou pleury pri neuspokojivých výsledkoch systémovej liečby použitím maximálnej cytoredukcie s následnou intrapleurálnou perioperačnou hypertermickou lavážou dutiny hrudnej kombináciou cytostatík (HITHOC). Poukazujú na výhody multimodálnej liečby malígneho pleurálneho mezoteliómu, ktorá zatiaľ vykazuje najlepšie výsledky v liečbe tohto malígneho ochorenia. Prezentujú prvú skúsenosť s HITHOC v Slovenskej aj Českej republike.

Cytoreductive surgery combined with intraoperative hyperthermic intrathoracalis chemotherapy (HITHOC) for Stage I of malignant pleural mesothelioma – first experience

The authors set out a concise review of the issue of malignant pleural mesothelioma treatment with pleural carcinosis in the case of unsatisfactory results brought by the systematic treatment using maximum cytoreduction with subsequent intrapleural perioperative hyperthermic lavage of thoracic cavity (cytoreductive surgery combined with intraoperative hyperthermic intrathoracalis chemotherapy – HITHOC). They point out the advantages of multimodal cure of the malignant pleural mesothelioma, which has proven the best results so far in the treatment of this malignant disease. Moreover, they represent the very first experience performing HITHOC in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
