Vagal maneuvers in general practice – case reports
The article describes vagal maneuvers and techniques recommended for the prehospital management of patients with supraventricular tachycardia (SVT). Treatment with the modified Valsalva maneuver (MVM) is new. This method appears to be effective, simple and relatively safe for both crews of the Emergency Medical Service (EMS) without a doctor, as well as in a general practitioner‘s office. The article includes three short case reports from emergency medical service trips, where patients with SVT were treated with medication, also using the modified Valsalva maneuver (MVM) technique.
