SECONDARY OSTEOPOROSIS
Osteoporosis is a systemic skeletal disease characterized by low bone mass and microarchitectural deterioration of bone tissue, with a consequent increase in bone fragility and susceptibility to fracture. Secondary osteoporosis is caused by other conditions, such as hormonal imbalances, certain diseases, or medications, which affect bone metabolism negatively. Clinical presentation secondary osteoporosis is atypical (without hyperparathyreosis and partially renal osteopathy). The causes of secondary osteoporosis are usually multifactorial. Secondary osteoporosis is result of the three influences: genetic reasons, changes in bone metabolism and pathologic conditions. The most common pathologic conditions who lead to osteoporosis: some chronic illnesses, chronic abuse of medications (such as corticosteroids), the nutritious diseases and others.
