Appraisal of the health ability for driving the motor vehicle with the relationship of the obstructive sleep apnea syndrome
Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome causes serious cardiometabolic consequences as well as fragmentation of sleep due to the various arousals which are followed by the excessive daytime sleepiness with the high risk of microsleep while driving the car. The directive concerning appraisal of the health ability for driving the motor vehicle with the relationship of the obstructive sleep apnea syndrome was published by the European Union. Since the beginning of the year 2016 these directions have been implemented into the national legislation of the European countries.
