NEW ASPECTS OF PREVENTION AND THERAPY OF OSTEOPOROSIS

Accordind to the health, economic and social consequences adequate attention should be paid to the prevention and therapy of osteoporosis. Unless treated almost one half of the women above 50 years of age suffer from osteoporotic fractures. Early diagnosis and correct evaluation of the patient‘s risk profile play a key role in deciding on the treatment onset. Individual therapy choice is of cardinal importance for good compliance and for achieving the required effect on the fracture risk reduction.
