Nimesulide in the treatment of acute pain in the general practitioner

Nimesulide is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug preferentially blocking cyclooxygenase 2, and therefore has a lower gastropatic manifestations. The analgesic and anti-inflammatory activity is not only central but also peripheral. According to the analgesic ladder is administered as monotherapy or in combination for the treatment of acute vertebral pain, post-traumatic and postoperative conditions or dysmenorrhea.
