Listeria monocytogenes meningitis in 61-year-old patient

Listeriosis is a relatively rare disease caused by Listeria monocytogenes, commonly found in the external environment – in water, air, on hands or in the refrigerator, and is characterized by facultative intracellular parasitism. The case report development of meningitis in a 61-year-old patient without risk factors, but with a history of eating unpasteurized sheep products. The aim of this article is to increase the awareness of GPs and clinical vigilance.
