Compression therapy in clinical practice – I. part
Compression therapy is part of a comprehensive treatment of vascular diseases. The principle is the application of a graduated pressure on the lower extremity with a maximum effect in the ankle with a gradual reduction in the thigh. This paper describes the mechanism of action, indications and basic different types of compression.
