Infectious diseases in marginalized Roma communities living in settlements
Health of marginalized Roma population living in settlements is worse than the health of the majority population. This is mainly due to the insufficient level of health awareness and lower education. Increased morbidity in Roma communities is done by both – increased number of infectious diseases and non-infectious diseases. All types of infectious diseases, as to the transmission rout are more frequent in comparison to the majority population. It is important for general practitioners to be aware of that situation and actively contribute to increased health awareness of the disadvantaged population groups living in settlements.
