Current possibilities of ambulatory treatment of obesity
Ambulatory treatment of obesity is the base of management of this chronic relapsing disease. It requires a multimodal approach, where the doctor’s office closely cooperates with the center for demanding, nutritionist and psychologist. Only such a combined multidisciplinary treatment procedure in the necessary time horizon is a prerequisite for treatment success, which is necessarily long-term dispensary care. For a precisely determined type of patient, a connection to a surgical workplace, which is dedicated to bariatric-metabolic surgery, is necessary.
