Vaccination guidance against SARS-CoV-2 in people with bleeding disorders
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a huge impact around the world, and people everywhere has been affected by the virus SARS-CoV2 either directly or indirectly - including people with bleeding disorders and those who care for them. Fortunately, the first SARS-CoV2 vaccines have been approved, and around the world, people are ongoing to be vaccinated. Currently available coronavirus disease vaccines are approved for intramuscular injection. Subcutaneous vaccination was recommended in patients with hemophilia and other bleeding disorders to avoid intramuscular bleeds. It is for this reason that leading hemophilia organizations have developed individual vaccination guidelines for patients with bleeding disorders.
