The coronary CT angiography as the one of option of examination of coronary heart disease
The coronary CT angiography generates 3D image of heart and coronary arteries with high quality and this image is very important for interpreting scans and for diagnostics of coronary heart disease. Thanks to the high quality of image the cardiologists can obtain maximum of the diagnostic information and they can visualize the coronary artery of specific anatomical part, in which is expected formation of a pathological process. The CCTA is used for diagnose coronary artery disease, monitoring of bypasses or for detection of thrombus and calcifications in the coronary arteries. The CCTA helps to obtain special information from this anatomical part, which is not possible to receive by the interventional coronary angiography, because CCTA provides a more comprehensive assessment of coronary arteries. The CCTA has a unique place among another diagnostic methods used for the diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases. The aim of the study was to summarize briefly the principle of imaging techniques of the CCTA and to define the concepts are used for this examination.
