Abdominal aortic aneurysm – percutaneous endovascular solution
Endovascular treatment of abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a standard therapeutic method. According to the revised recommendations the endovascular approach of infrarenal AAA or aneurysm of common iliac artery is classified, similarly to open surgery, in indication category I, level of evidence A. The use of a total percutaneous approach to endovascular repair of aortic pathology (PEVAR) further extends the indications of intervention therapy. It is linked with low mortality and acceptable complication rate. One of the most frequent complications is femoral artery pseudoaneurysm. The correct indication, technical realization, and adequate periprocedural management are essential for further reduction of adverse events after PEVAR.
