Bilateral testicular microlithiasis in a child with unilateral inguinal testicular retention
Testicular microlithiasis (TM) is a rare benign condition with presence of multiple small hyperechogenic microcalcifications in the seminiferous tubules. Though the aetiology is unknown, TM has been described in association with a variety of urological conditions. We report the clinico-radiological features of a 11-year-old boy with bilateral testicular microlithiasis who underwent orchidopexy for left inguinal undescended testis. TM was diagnosed a few days after operation. Family history was negative on testicular cancer, genital abnormalities and subfertiltiy.
