Prevention of venous thromboembolism in oncologic patients
Authors mention the hight incidence of venous thromboembolism in oncologic patients. They list risk factors and Khorana´s scoring system, analyze prevention and prophylaxis of venous thromboembolism. Low molecular weight heparin is a dominated for prophylaxis. European society of medical oncology (ESMO) recommends an prolonged prophylaxis more than 28 days. Long – term lasting thromboprophylaxis is also indicated in oncologic patients after paliative surgical therapy.
