Malrotation of midgut in patient with gastric cancer

Intestinal malrotation is rarely and mostly asymptomatic and generally diagnosed incidentally in adults. We report a case of malrotation of midgut with incidental frequency in the literature and gastric cancer. Fifty eight old woman with confirmed gastric cancer and dyspepsia was admitted to the hospital because of surgical treatment. CT before operation didn´t detected the malrotation of midgut , which was found during surgery. Patient suffered from missing D4 of duodenum, lig. Treitz was absent, large intestine was localized in left part of abdomen and loops of small intestine were fixed in the right half of abdomen. Gastrectomy was successful and during reconstruction phase anteposition of oesophagojejunoanastomosis with fixation of blind jejunal arm into right side was performed because of anomaly. Patient was successfully treated without postoperative leak of contrast during gastrointestinal contrast series and dismissed in good condition.
