Conservative procedures for breast tumors located in the central segment

Conservative procedures on the breast are currently fully accepted by the general oncosurgical public. This was not always the case. The pioneers of this type of operation had to fight hard with supporters of outdated views. The transition from radical to conservative performance was carefully accompanied by a number of contraindications. One of them was the localization of the tumor in the central segment of the breast. To the question – why such a procedure, an accurate and rational answer has never been established. Tumor localization in the central breast segment is not a contraindication for conservative performance.
