Cytoreductive surgery and HIPEC in the treatment of peritoneal surface malignancies

Background: The mission of this article is to bring near the therapy of advanced malignancy of peritoneal surface by using cytoreductive surgery (CRS) combinated with intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC). Materials and methods: The authors presents their experiences with CRS and HIPEC at the own department. 13 patients underwent operation from May 2010. In 12 cases was used semi-automatic-closed (Coliseum) technic, in 2 cases combination with EPIC and in two case was used laparoscopy. Results: PCI was up 0 to 39 points. In respect of small file of patients and heterogenity of this file is further evaluation difficulty. It was registrated one serious peroperative complication - DIC. Conclusion: In the selected patients with advanced malignancy of peritoneal surface, CRS combinated with HIPEC improve surviving.
