A view on suicidal behaviour of patients hospitalized at the 2nd Department of Psychiatry of the Faculty of Medicine of UPJS in Kosice – original article
The article focuses on suicidal behavior in the Slovak population. It discusses the causes of suicide, coping with stressful situations and stress. Material and methods: The study group consisted of 54 patients hospitalized at the 2nd Department of Psychiatry of UPJS and the University Hospital of Louis Pasteur in Kosice in the two years period. Results and conclusions: The result confirmed a significant proportion of the depresivity of suicide in both sexes. Differences were found mainly in the level of education for both sexes, and in addition there were differences in age and education for women subjects, which may be caused by the environment. The research also highlights the dependency of suicidal behavior and alcohol consumption at the time of suicide. The article, in the end, shows the importance of suicide prevention and offers options how to prevent it.
