Application of psychological diagnostic on males in IVF couples
Sexual life of couples undergoing the psychologically demanding IVF process is a highly sensitive issue that is in many medical centers providing this treatment with respect to males insufficiently addressed. We present well-arranged results of the Male Sexual Function questionnaire administered to a sample of 75 males in the Assisted Reproduction Center (CAR) at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, University Hospital, Olomouc. The findings are statistically compared to a control group. In the preliminary stage, before the first IVF cycle, we did not find any change in the sexual life of the individuals in our sample with the median of conception efforts being 4 years compared to the men who do not deal with any fertility problems.
