Analysis of occurrence of ophthalmological diagnoses and compliance of patient
To achieve successful therapy eye diseases require early diagnoses and individually adjusted treatment. The main objective of the presented study has been to analyze nad evaluate the incidence of most common eye diseases of adults and the patients´compliance with pharmacological treatment of the diseases. The information obtained through anonymous questionnaire surveys conducted in a private ophthalmological clinic in Lučenec and public pharmacies in Detva, Lučenec and Bratislava in a period from May 2019 to January 2020 was used in evaluation. The questionnaire consisted of 16 questions concerning the eye diseases and the patients´compliance with the pharmacological treatment of the diseases. The questionnaire survey was completed by 150 respondents, 95 of them were women (63 %) and 55 men (37 %). The respondents were divided into four categories according to the age. Most respondents were at the age between 50 and 69 years (43 %). I have evaluated the results according to the age and gender of the respondents. In addition to health care providers - the doctor and pharmacist, the patient plays a very important role in the process of treatment of eye diseases. Except providing information about the therapy by the doctor and education and motivation of the patient to comply with the rules of the therapy by the pharmacists, the responsible compliance of the patient is important.
