Trends in consumption of selected groups of vaccines in 2009 – 2018 within the Slovak Republic

The aim of this study was to analyse the consumption of selected groups of vaccines used in mandatory vaccination in Slovak Republic. We have analysed the vaccines consumption data from 2009 – 2018. The data were obtained from the State Institute for Drug Control. We have used the physical consumption indicator (number of packages used, and number of vaccine doses used, respectively), as well as financial indicator (the value of vaccines used in EUR). The results showed that the vaccines consumption during the last decade within the Slovak Republic was not constant and varied. We have noticed the lowest rate of consumption in 2012. There were used mainly combined, polyvalent vaccines in mandatory vaccination in the Slovak Republic.
