Recent state and perspectives of vaccinations

An overview of the recent state and perspective development of vaccinology is given in terms for practicing physicians. To date, more effective vaccines with reduced side effects emerged, indications for vaccination widened and there is an increased importance of vaccination in subjects with chronic diseases and elderly individuals. In parallel with this, increased activity of anti-vaccination movement is observed. In this situation, a great deal of success depends on the physician´s knowledge and their ability to convince subjects to be vaccinated (or their parents, in case of children) on the advantages provided by vaccination.
