WHEN TO TAKE A MALIGNANCY INTO A CONSIDERATION WHILE EXAMINING A CHILD?
Pediatric malignancies are not easily early diagnosed because of their rarity and often non-specific symptomatology. However, early diagnosis is essential for the destiny of a given child, i.e. for the chance to be cured from the cancer. The authors outline here the most common symptoms of pediatric malignancies that can be observed while examining a child during a medical practitioner´s visit with a particular focus on pediatric oncology emergencies. The authors also emphasize the importance and the benefit of prescheduled routine preventive examinations done by the primary care physician.
