Diagnostic and therapeutic approach for laryngomalacia in child
The most common cause of inspiratory as well as inspiratory-expiratory stridor in children is laryngeal disease, of which 45–75 % is laryngomalacia. It is one of the most typical congenital diseases of the larynx in infancy. Considering the diversity of stridor etiology and the possible consequences of chronic airway obstruction, it is very important to make a correct and early diagnosis. The aim of this work is to present the basic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures of laryngomalacia to professional public and thus to further improve the quality of health care and treatment of pediatric patients.
