Allergen immunotherapy in the treatment of allergic rhinoconjunctivitis in children

Allergen immunotherapy (AIT) represents the only currently available treatment for IgE-mediated allergic diseases that targets the underlying pathophysiology and has a disease-modifying effect. The recently published European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) clinical practice guidelines provide evidence-based recommendations for AIT.
