Selected communication problems of geriatric palliative care
The dying in advanced age is natural but the denaturalization of a modern man is so evident that there is a need to remind it again. Ageing and dying moved into hospitals and nursing homes in all developed countries of the world. The hallmarks of geriatric palliative care which distinguish it from other clinical approaches are caused by age-related circumstances such as multimorbidity, geriatric syndromes, the perception of death by an elderly, limited treatment options and social background. Also, communication with elderly patients and their care providers is specific in different situations from a palliative approach decision making to the dying of a senior.
