Attitudes and knowledge of nursing students about hospice and palliative care
A nurse who provides nursing care for the terminally ill and the dying must be able to recognize the physical, mental, social and spiritual symptoms, plan effective nursing interventions to alleviate them, and at the same time be able to understand what the dying and his family are going through. Only an educated nurse who influences a positive attitude towards dying patients and their families can provide quality nursing care to the patient and his loved ones. The aim of the paper is to present an evaluation of the interest and readiness of nursing students to provide quality, specific terminal care. We analyzed the attitudes and knowledge of nursing students in the bachelor‘s study. For the evaluation, we chose a questionnaire of our own design.
