New trends in the immunotherapy of cancer
At last, cancer immunotherapy has come of age, now. As a newcomer, in the terms of his elderly brothers, it grows up. It seems that it will be the last and most powerful modality in the treatment of cancer. Cellular therapy, vaccination, genetically modified T lymphocytes, blockade of immunological checkpoints, therapy with monoclonal antibodies and the inhibition of myeloid derived suppressor cells (MDSC) are now the „checkpoints“ on the road pawed ahead.
