Treatment of BRAF wt metastatic colorectal cancer
The treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) is based on systemic chemotherapy in combination with biologic therapy. The median of overall survival (OS) of patients with metastatic colorectal cancer has improved to approximately 30 months due to more effective therapeutic combinations and more information about tumors biology. Doublets plus anti-epidermal growth factor receptors (anti-EGFR) are the preferred option for patients with left-sided RAS/BRAF wild-type metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC). Initial therapy with FOLFOXIRI plus bevacizumab is superior to doublets plus bevacizumab independently from primary tumor sidedness and RAS/BRAF status.
