Quality of life of adult patients with hematological malignancies after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation
Results of survival of patients after alogeneic hematopoietic stemm cell transplantation (HCT) are considered to be the most important datas that indicates the susccess of this treatment. This lifethreatening approach is accompanied by many acute and chronic complications, which can directly endangered the patient´s life or significantly reduced the quality of life (QOL). Besides physical difficulties, HCT is connected also with psychosocial threats. QOL is thoroughly researched especially in prospective longitudinal, but also in cross-sectional clinical studies with various methods QOL assessment. With QOL reporting is patient closely involved to the treatment process, imore thoroughly educated and has more adequate expectations after HCT. The results of QOL assessment early identify patients with significantly worsened QOL and should lead to the interventions with interdisciplinary cooperation (examination by a specialist, physiotherapy, social measures, psychological interventions etc.) with the aim of improving QOL.
