CARDIOVASCULAR COMPLICATIONS OF SELECTED ANTICANCER AGENTS – NEW INSIGHTS INTO PATHOGENESIS AND DIAGNOSTICS

Quality of life of oncologic patients represents a multidisciplinary problem. The price of success of anticancer therapy is sometimes high, including cardiotoxic complications. Detailed knowledge of molecular pathogenesis of complications after anticancer therapy and using modern biochemical, electrophysiological and imaging methods allow early diagnosis of potential cardiovascular complications prior to clinical manifestation of cardiotoxicity. For better quality of life during anticancer therapy and after its completion is necessary risk stratification of patients treated with potential cardiotoxic agents is necessary.
