AXILLARY WEB SYNDROME – COMMON COMPLICATION IN BREAST CANCER TREATMENT
Axillary web syndrome (AWS) is frequent cause of early postoperative morbidity of axillary surgery and complication of a complex breast cancer therapy, it affects ablout 6 % to 40 % of patients. It develops in several weeks or years from primary therapy (7). More then 10 % of AWS appears 3 years after surgery (breast conservation surgery, modifying radical mastectomy) or radiotherapy (residual breast tissue, axillar area).
