Acute promyelocytic leukemia - pathogenesis, diagnostics, prognosis (part I.)
The prognosis of APL has significantly changed during last twenty years. Contributing factors are accelerated diagnostics, initial better supportive therapy and incorporation of a new and strategical medicaments to the therapy. The first part of the review depicts the main characteristics of the disease, the principles of diagnostics, management of hemorrhagic diathesis a the factors affecting the prognosis of APL.
