Zooantroponous dermatophytic infections
Dermatophytic infections are still a worldwide problem. The spectrum of dermatophytes isolated from skin lesions had changed. Trichophyton rubrum is now the most common dermatophyte in West, Central and North Europe, and in America. In Southern Europe and also in some countries in Asia and in Africa zoophilic dermatophytes are the most frequently isolated. Dermatophytoses caused by zoophile dermatophytes are still a problem because of the economic consequences of infection in farm animal, professional infections by farmer etc.
