Urticaria and angioedema
Urticaria is a relatively common disease affecting up to 20-30% of the population at least once in a lifetime. It is characterized by the development of itchy, rapidly developing and volatile urticarial efflorescences in many cases accompanied by angioedema. Angioedema is characterized by sudden swelling in areas with thinner subcutaneous tissue and mucous membranes, especially in the head and neck, which can lead to lifethreatening lives. According to the duration of manifestations, we distinguish between acute and chronic urticaria, which can be caused by various causes, but for the most part the etiology is unknown. Treatment consists of removing the triggers and controlling the symptoms of the disease.
