Systemic retinoids in the treatment of selected childhood dermatoses
Systemic retinoids are new perspective treatment of skin disease in adults and children in last decade. There are differences in pediatric population which lead us to use systemic retinoids carefully. The aim of this paper is to describe from mode of action of retinoids to all spectrum of using systemic retinoids in pediatric dermatology (ichtyosis, pustular psoriasis, severe acne and keratodermas). Monitoring of side effects is very important as well as interdisciplinary cooperation dermatologists and pediatricians. Previous treatment, severity of disease and life quality index are fundamental for specialist before using systemic retinoids.
