Brief overview of surgical and pharmacological treatment of melanoma
Paper presents an overview of current surgical and pharmacological treatment and suggests its perspectives. Malignant melanoma accounts for only 4% of skin cancers; however, it is the cause of mortality in up to 79% of patients suffering from malignancies of the skin. Current treatment options for melanoma are limited. The only treatment option in the adjuvant therapy is interferon. Treatment of metastatic melanoma remains insufficient.
