Pigmented epithelioid melanocytoma: two case reports
Introduction: Pigmented epithelioid melanocytoma (PEM) is a compound melanocytic neoplasia with metastatic potential limited to lymph nodes. It is a rare tumor belonging to the atypical melanocytic lesions, which are relatively broad group and cause the problem of mutual differentiation and differentiation from malignant melanoma. Case description: We describe the case of two patients diagnosed with pigmented epithelioid melanocytoma and their subsequent management. Conclusion: Despite the fact that most countries have precise recommendations for the therapy of malignant melanoma, there are no precise recommendations for the treatment and subsequent follow-up of intermediate melanocytic lesions. Interdisciplinary cooperation between pathologists, dermatologists and surgeons in specialized workplaces is important.
