Atypical manifestation of cutaneous sarcoidosis- case report
Purpose: Sarcoidosis cutis involves skin manifestations within a multiorgan disease, present in nearly half of the affected patients. The clinical spectrum of cutaneous sarcoidosis is diverse and can mimic a wide range of dermatoses. The variety of skin manifestations, broad differential diagnosis, and the need for interdisciplinary collaboration contribute to diagnostic challenges. Case report: The author describes the occurrence of atypical cutaneous lesions of sarcoidosis in a 62-year-old patient, which manifested after a recurrence of pulmonary sarcoidosis. Conclusion: The advantage of a skin examination lies in its non-invasiveness. A dermatologist may be the first to express suspicion of a systemic disease. The subsequent benefit for the patient lies in timely initiation of treatment or follow-up care.
