Neutrophil acute febrile dermatosis: Sweet‘s syndrome
Sweet‘s syndrome (SS) is defined as a disease of unknown origin characterized by the sudden onset, fever, leukocytosis, and plaque, pseudo-vesicle and papular lesions. The authors present a set of 12 patients with a given diagnosis from three Slovak workplaces. In 8 cases it was idiopathic and in 4 cases paraneoplastic SS. All patients showed laboratory inflammatory activity and leukocytosis, with some elevation of transaminases. In neither case were recorded organ complications. All patients responded well to treatment with corticosteroids. Authors point to the possibility of incorrect diagnosis given the highly diverse spectrum of clinical manifestations.
