cEEG changes due to hemodynamic instability in septic patients
Continuous EEG (cEEG) monitoring does not currently represent common monitoring modality within our ICU units. Despite the whole range of innitial issues related to implementation of this technique, the overall positive outcome is undeniable. The cEEG represents the only possible modality able to monitor and provide picture of cerebral tissue state in real time. This approach provides unique possibility to evaluate and diagnose the actual neurological state of sedated patient without relying on irregular imaging techniques. This paper provides basic picture of elementary pathological findings on cEEG which can be found on ICU units and are related to sepsis. It also provides several findings of patient hospitalized at ICU of Faculty Hospital Nové Zámky and relevant pathophysiology of such findings.
