Post COVID-19 syndrome or so-called a long term COVID-19 will not let anesthesiologists sleep
COVID-19 is caused by coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). It is traditionally associated with severe acute respiratory syndrome. Respiratory and pulmonary problems are the most common, but the extrapulmonary manifestations of COVID-19 are also frekvent. With a high morbidity rate, there will be a large population of recovered patients in the near future, who may have many long-term health consequences of the disease. Although the multiorgan manifestations of COVID-19 are well documented, the long-term consequences of overcoming COVID-19 have yet to be identified and studied in detail. SARS-CoV-2 penetrates the vascular endothelium of all organs. Through ACE2 receptors, which are abundant in many tissues, it causes pathological changes and bad affects organ function.
