Laryngospasm-induced pulmonary edema
Laryngospasm is one of the most common forms of airway obstruction that we encounter in anesthesia practice. Therapy is aimed at relaxing the obstruction in the shortest time possible. However, in some cases, the patient‘s mighty breathing effort can lead to pulmonary edema. In this article, we present cases that are typical for this complication. In the discussion, we argue the etiology and management of this form of noncardial pulmonary edema.
