Enhanced patient adherence to hypertension - available option improving the quality of care?

The aim of this work was to explore and compare the views of patients with arterial hypertension and general practitioners on adherence. The method was a questionnaire survey addressing 100 GP and 500 patients. The results confirmed their interest in the issue, return questionnaires – 95% GP, 42.8% patients. Conclusions – nonadherence is a common cause of unsatisfactory patient’s response to treatment with arterial hypertension. Rise of adherence is a prerequisite for basal improve health care of patients with arterial hypertension.
