Health literacy as the key determinant of health in obesity/diabesity prevention
Health literacy is the degree to which individuals have the ability to obtain, process and understand basic health information and services needed to make appropriate health decisions. Although there are many determinants that contribute to the process of care and health outcomes for patients with complex chronic disease, over the past two decades the literature has been growing, illustrating the concept of health literacy as a relevant and influential factor related to obesity/diabesity.
